While my abstract work continues to evolve, I am consistently drawn to an expressionism style with a heavy focus on color field painting, layering and modern shapes. I use color relationships to create depth on canvas. This allows me to infuse moods and emotions into my work. The inspiration for each abstract piece varies, but each is a reaction to specific personal experiences.
This collection is my response to ambiguity and uncertainty. The forms and marks represent the ways that opposite ideas can exist at the same time. Clarity lives next to uncertainty and balance exists in the midst of instability. The shapes and colors have a push-and-pull effect, attempting to bring order to the piece.
